Students in MechE are encouraged to create an advising network! Your academic advisor is there to help you, but it is usually worth while to seek out an expert when you have specific questions. Advising resources:
- Faculty Academic Advisor – for class selection, degree requirements, career/networking advice, UROP/research advice, academic issues and urgent student support needs
- UROP supervisors – for research interests, graduate school, thesis topics, and career/networking advice
- Instructors – for class selection or sometimes for UROP, grad school, or career advice
- Undergraduate Office – degree audits, class selection, requirements, navigating beaurocracy, difficulty with coursework, student support, and where to go if you don’t know where to go.
