ETH Zurich is one of the leading international universities for technology and the natural sciences.  They have a wide variety of specialized courses (great for 2-A or restricted electives), offered in English!  Check out the selection here: http://www.vvz.ethz.ch/Vorlesungsverzeichnis/sucheLehrangebotPre.do?lang=en

  • Be sure to select the language of instruction (at the bottom of the form) as English.
  • Note: Students may not select courses with “AA” in the subject number, or courses marked with an ! symbol in the description.
  • Students must select at least 2/3 of their courses from D-MAVT (the Zurich equivalent of the Department of Mechanical Engineering).
  • Students should select at least 20 credits worth of classes.

Eligibility Requirements (by the end of Fall 2016):

2-A Majors: Sophomore Core subjects completed (2.087, 2.086, 2.01, 2.02A or B, 2.03, 2.04A, at least one of 2.00 and 2.678) plus 2.05, 2.051, 2.671 in Junior Fall.

2 Majors: Sophomore Core, plus most of Junior year subjects (18.03, 2.001, 2.003, 2.005, 2.006, 2.007, 2.086, 2.670, 2.671, and at least 1 of 2.002, 2.004, 2.008)

Notes: The core ME curriculum at Zurich is taught in German, therefore English speakers will probably get transfer credit for subjects appropriate for a 2-A concentration or Restricted Electives only.  Core class transfer credit can be discussed with the International Transfer Credit Officer should you find classes that seem to be good candidates.
